Note: Listed pollutants above were the most frequently studied pollutants because of their phytoremediation capacity. Those pollutants can easily be found in paint, glue, detergent, windows cleaner, ink, lacquer, solvent, smoke and many other products commonly used. Carbon monoxide appears with the misuse of combustion machines of all kind. All those pollutants are very dangerous for health and most of them are carcinogenic. Of course other pollutants can be found in houses and offices but less studies were carried out on them.

In addition, other indoor plants can help to get rid of pollution. But those listed above are the most studied ones.
